I'm a sex therapist and psychologist, providing a shame-free space where you have permission to talk about anything related to sexuality and mental health. I support you in creating meaningful change in your life.
Hi there! I’m Jonna, a psychologist and sex therapist originally from Finland, now based in the Netherlands. Since graduating in 2020, I’ve worked as both a psychologist and a health coach.
In my work as a (preventive) psychologist, I’ve supported people dealing with challenges such as anxiety, stress, and relationship difficulties. As a health coach, I’ve worked with individuals living with chronic conditions like IBD, rheumatoid arthritis, and eczema, helping them find ways to ease symptoms through behavioral and lifestyle changes.
In 2023, I began an exciting new chapter as I started my two-year postgraduate training in sex therapy. Since then, my work has mostly revolved around the themes of sexuality, relationships, and gender, although I still continue to support clients with broader mental health and well-being topics.
My personal background has also sparked a strong interest in how faith and spirituality shape our identities and relationships—including the challenges that come with questioning or leaving a religious community.
If you’re exploring your sexuality, struggling with mental health, or reflecting on your faith and identity, I offer a safe space to navigate these experiences, always with warmth and without judgment.
My work integrates different approaches and theories from psychology and sexology, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. I combine these evidence-based methods in a way that fit your unique situation and needs.
Additionally, my approach is sex-positive and grounded in science, meaning I view sexuality as a natural and valuable part of being human. I stay up-to-date with the latest research and continue to deepen my knowledge and skills to best support my clients. With my background in health psychology, I also take a holistic view of well-being. I consider how the different areas of your life—physical, emotional, social, and spiritual—interact and influence one another.
I see you as the expert of your own life. I don’t have ready-made answers, but I’m here to listen, support, and help you find the right direction for you. Together, we’ll explore what’s going on and work toward meaningful change.
Above all, I aim to be open-minded, non-judgmental, and empathetic in my work. I think my biggest strengths as a professional lie in my ability to connect with people and ability to create a warm-hearted, trusting environment. I have a good reason to believe this too, since my clients have consistently told me so! :)
P.S. If you look at my availability here and don't see any time slots that suit you, no worries—just shoot me a message. My schedule is flexible, so I am sure we'll be able to find a time that suits us both.
