About me

Verónica Espinosa Sánchez Clinical Psychologist, Neuropsychologist, and Cognitive Psychotherapist Available for in-person sessions in Quito, Ecuador, and virtual sessions worldwide

I am a clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience providing psychological assessment and therapy to adolescents and adults. My expertise includes emotional disorders, personality disorders, and eating disorders. I hold master’s degrees in Neuroscience, Forensic and Criminal Psychology, and Talent Management, allowing me to approach mental health from an integrative clinical and organizational perspective.

My clinical work is grounded in cognitive therapy, an evidence-based approach focused on identifying and modifying thought and behavior patterns that contribute to emotional distress. I work with individuals facing depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders, and eating disorders, among others. My goal is to help each client develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, improved quality of life, and psychological well-being.

I also conduct psychological and neuropsychological evaluations to assess cognitive functions such as memory, attention, and language, especially in cases of cognitive decline, dementia (including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease), and other neurological conditions. I am an accredited forensic expert recognized by Ecuador’s Judicial Council, providing psychological expert reports in legal cases involving psychological violence, moral and emotional damage.

Academically, I am a university professor and coordinator of a Hispanic-American diploma program specializing in Eating Disorders. I have led workshops and talks focused on emotional disorder prevention, assertive communication, personal security, and conflict resolution for both adolescents and adults. Additionally, I was the host of the YouTube program “Let’s Talk About Mental Health,” an educational initiative promoting mental health awareness and prevention.

As a professional and individual, I describe myself as authentic, confident, and deeply committed to my vocation. My mission is to create a therapeutic space where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered to transform their lives through trust and respect. I firmly believe therapy is a powerful tool for discovering and nurturing inner resources often hidden by suffering.

In my practice, I integrate scientific rigor with human sensitivity, aiming for each therapeutic process to be an experience of growth, learning, and healing. I offer both in-person sessions in Quito and virtual sessions via Zoom, providing accessible and flexible care for clients across different regions and countries.

If you are seeking compassionate, clear, and professional support to overcome emotional challenges, improve your relationships, or enhance your personal development, I am here to assist you.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CBT: Cognitive behavioural therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
Clinical psychologyRecommended for those who need help with diagnosing and treating more complex mental health issues, often involving assessments and evidence-based treatments.
Psychotherapy Recommended for those who want to work through emotional or mental health challenges by talking with a trained psychotherapist.

Therapeutic Style and Approach

My therapeutic style is grounded in a collaborative, empathetic, and evidence-based approach that prioritizes your unique experiences and goals. As a clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist specializing in emotional, personality, eating, and neurodevelopmental disorders, I work closely with you to create a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your challenges and strengths.

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a structured and goal-oriented method that helps identify and modify unhelpful thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we will uncover patterns that maintain distress or conflict and develop practical strategies to foster emotional regulation, improve relationships, and enhance overall well-being.

Each therapy process is personalized. I integrate neuropsychological insights when relevant, helping to better understand cognitive and emotional functioning. Whether we meet in person or via Zoom, my focus is to empower you through psychoeducation, skill-building, and reflective activities that promote self-awareness and sustainable change.

I encourage active participation and open communication so we can adapt the sessions to what works best for you. My goal is that every meeting becomes an opportunity for growth, resilience, and deeper understanding of yourself, enabling you to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and balance.
