I'm Leonor, an accredited psychologist in Portugal and member of the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses (OPP).
I've always been deeply curious about people: why we act the way we do, what drives our choices, and how our experiences shape us. These are complex questions that often don’t have easy answers, especially when we don’t have the space or support to explore them. Therapy offers that space. It allows us to begin understanding ourselves, our patterns, emotions, and deeper motivations, in the context of a safe and supportive relationship. As a psychologist, I bring that same curiosity into my work, not to judge, but to help you build awareness, self-compassion, and clarity.
I am especially fond of working with expats and people who are going through loss and grief. I can understand how disorienting it can feel to navigate life in transition or cope with such profound change. I aim to provide a safe and supportive space where we can explore your emotions, make sense of your experiences, and find ways to move forward at your own pace.
Together, we can make sense of what you’re going through.
My therapeutic approach is primarily rooted in cognitive-behavioural and humanistic frameworks. In practice, this means I work collaboratively with clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours with empathy, acceptance, and authenticity.
On the other hand, I believe that therapy should be tailored to each individual, there's no one-size-fits-all method. While some people benefit from structured strategies, others may need a space to process emotions or deepen self-understanding. For this reason, I continue to expand my study with other modalities, such as emotion-focused therapy, so I can better adapt to each person's unique needs.
