About me

Hello :) and welcome to my online practice.

I’m Herbert, a qualified psychologist and coach, and I support people who are going through challenging periods in their lives, seeking new perspectives, or wanting to create more fulfilling relationships.

Whether you are facing personal difficulties, professional challenges, emotional stress, or recurring patterns that seem difficult to change, we can explore together what is happening and what might help you move forward.

My approach focuses on understanding your individual strengths, resources, and needs. I aim to offer a safe, respectful, and open space where you can talk freely about whatever is on your mind — whether it relates to your personal life, relationships, work, or a broader sense of direction.

Together, we work step by step towards greater clarity, emotional stability, resilience, and confidence in dealing with life’s challenges.

With many years of experience as a psychologist and coach, I draw on a broad range of psychological approaches and practical tools. At the same time, I do not believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. What matters most is finding an approach that genuinely fits you, your situation, and the person you want to become.

You do not have to have everything figured out before we begin. Sometimes the first step is simply having a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported.

I would be glad to accompany you on your way.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
ACT: Acceptance and commitment therapyRecommended for those who want to stop fighting negative thoughts and learn how to live with more acceptance and focus on what really matters in life.
CBT: Cognitive behavioural therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
CoachingRecommended for those who want support and motivation to achieve personal or professional goals, often with a structured, goal-oriented approach.
MindfulnessMindfulness is the process of maintaining a purposeful moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, and surrounding environment.

I work with a range of psychological approaches, all of which share one central idea: to build on your individual strengths, resources, and potential.

Depending on what feels most helpful for you, I draw on elements from Positive Psychology, Systemic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), stress management, mental strength training, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Polyvagal Theory, mindfulness-based approaches, and resource-oriented work.

At the heart of my work, however, is not a particular method, but the quality of our relationship. I aim to create a space that feels safe, trusting, compassionate, and encouraging — a place where you can be open, explore what is going on, and feel supported in finding your own way forward.

In our first session, we will get to know each other and explore what brings you here, what you would like to change, and what you would like to move towards. What would you like to leave behind? And what would you like to create instead?

Together, we will identify a first focus for our work. And even in the first session, we can begin with initial reflections, practical ideas, and small steps towards your goals.

I look forward to meeting you, hearing your story, and working together in a way that feels meaningful and supportive for you.

Experience

36 years in practice

I have been working with people for more than 36 years, supporting them through personal challenges, periods of change, professional transitions, relationship difficulties, and demanding phases of life.

Throughout these years, I have worked in different roles as a psychologist, coach, counsellor, and facilitator. This long experience has taught me that every person brings a unique story, different strengths, and their own way of dealing with difficulties. For me, good psychological support therefore begins with understanding the individual person rather than applying a standard solution.

Over the years, I have accompanied people in gaining clarity, overcoming difficult patterns, coping with stress and uncertainty, strengthening their resilience, and finding new directions in both their personal and professional lives.

My work is shaped by a broad psychological background and many years of additional training, including systemic counselling, mindfulness-based approaches such as MBSR and MSC, cognitive behavioural methods, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Positive Psychology, stress management, and resource-oriented approaches.

Despite all these methods and years of experience, the most important part of my work remains the human encounter itself. I aim to meet you with openness, respect, curiosity, and compassion, and to create a space in which you can feel understood, supported, and encouraged to develop your own way forward.

After 36 years of working with people, I still value every new encounter and the opportunity to understand what matters to the person sitting in front of me.

Education

I am a qualified psychologist and coach with many years of experience supporting people through challenging and demanding phases of life.

Over the years, I have complemented my academic background with extensive additional training in a range of therapeutic and coaching approaches. These include qualifications as a Systemic Counsellor, MBSR Coach, and MSC Teacher, alongside numerous further trainings in psychology, mindfulness, resilience, stress management, and personal development.

My professional background combines psychological expertise with a practical, strengths-based approach. I particularly enjoy working with people who are facing personal challenges, periods of change, or difficult life situations and are looking for greater clarity, stability, and new perspectives.
