I put focus on learning to understand and work with the body and nervous system, so we can respond (instead of react) in moments of high stress, when triggered, and exploring/ healing core beliefs.
Hi, Amanda here, pronouns she/her/hers. Originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA, I moved to The Netherlands in 2016. After completing my Masters in Psychology, I opened my practice in 2019 with the focus on supporting others on their journey of healing from painful past experiences.
Relocating abroad has allowed me the opportunity to grow professionally, as well as personally. Having first-hand experience of what being an immigrant truly looks like, I can empathize and understand the hard-ship, frustration and struggles that come with relocating and starting a life in a new environment. As a trauma survivor myself, I continue to go down my journey of healing and as a result bring different techniques and real-life perspective into my sessions with clients.

I embrace a person-centered approach, bringing together cognitive awareness and body regulation, and I put a huge emphasis in building a collaborative relationship with my clients; my experience involves working with both adults and teens. There is not a “one-size fits all” when it comes to therapy, so it would not make sense to only use one therapeutic approach. I feel it is extremely important to continuously check in, adapt and evaluate with each other as we go through this journey together.
I have experience working with severe trauma; I maintain the Tri-Phasic Model ( (1) Safety and Stabilization, 2) Remembrance and Mourning (trauma processing), and 3) Reconnection and Integration) and work with my clients towards Empowerment and Resilience building. This involves creating a safe and stable environment, body self-regulation and reconnecting to meaningful life activities. We are not defined by our painful past experiences, but rather we can empower ourselves to heal from them.
I believe there are huge benefits in integrating techniques from Polyvagal Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Mindfulness/Grounding, and Narrative Therapy. Depending on what topics you want to work through, and which approaches you work well with, will help guides us with which methods to use. These approaches are incorporated to address anxiety, depression, burnout, interpersonal relationships and family dynamics.
I always offer a free 15-30 minute introduction Zoom call so we can meet, answer any questions you may have about this space so you can decide if this would be a good fit for you. Please reach out either on here or via my website to schedule this.
Working days are Monday- Friday and 2 Saturdays a month
