I support you through times of emotional distress, conflicts, and transitions. Our work together will help you live more fully and freely, by creating insights, adaptive coping, and corrective emotional experiences.
I am a Canadian psychotherapist / Hong Kong psychologist with clinical experience with a culturally diverse clientele in private practice, serving expatriates and citizens in Europe, Asia, and Canada. In therapy, I create this safe space for you to express emotions without inhibition. Compassion, cultural sensitivity, and trauma-informed care are at the core of my practice.
I have practiced at a university counselling centre and a number of private clinics where I get to familiarise myself with the common struggles of young and mid-age adults such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, family conflicts, relationship dissatisfaction, identity exploration, and career transition.
I believe therapy can deliver holistic benefits beyond symptom relief because it helps with not only restoring everyday functioning, but also finding lasting joy and building satisfying relationships.
To safeguard your wellbeing, I continue to receive regular clinical supervision with an experienced supervisor. I’m also engaged in continual education to broaden my repertoire to hold space for you. I have been receiving training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with supervisors and in a structured course at Toronto Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.
Having lived in North America, studied about Europe, received education in Hong Kong and Toronto, worked in Greater China - I understand the difficulties of cross cultural integration. I speak English, Cantonese, and Chinese Mandarin fluently and welcome clients of all colours.

In you I see a unique and complex person with individualised temperament, thoughts, feelings, relational patterns, and unmet needs.
In therapy, we work collaboratively to understand your distress from a compassionate angle. You're the engine of change while I assist you to identify your strengths to fuel effective long-term changes to even the most deep-seated issues.
My Orientation: It's more than just the medical model's diagnostic manual and treatment protocol. I draw on Psychodynamic perspectives (unconscious, defences, emotions, dreams, free associations etc), while integrating cognitive-behavioural tools, compassion, and body-oriented experiential techniques.
Therapy Process: With a comprehensive assessment comes a tailored treatment plan. The goal of our weekly or biweekly sessions: to relieve the symptoms you're suffering while achieving greater self-knowledge and acceptance. That is, address current problems and build long-term resilience.
Outcomes: Insights, corrective emotional experiences, and adaptive coping skills; hence lasting joy and satisfying relationships.
