I frequently work with individuals who are exploring who they are, embracing their identity, or navigating the challenges of living openly as their true selves. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, you may face unique social or family stressors, especially when authenticity conflicts with expectations or beliefs. I also work closely with clients who have left organized religion and may be grieving the loss of community, belonging, or family connections as they redefine their lives. My approach is grounded in a values-based lens, meaning we will use the values most important to you as a guide for decision-making and living a more authentic, meaningful life. When we move out of alignment with our values, it’s common to experience anxiety, depression, or a sense of disconnection. Our work together will aim to restore that sense of authenticity and excitement about life.
My therapeutic style is trauma-informed, client-centered, and integrative. I draw on EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I have completed extensive training in EMDR, complex trauma, crisis counseling, and CBT, and ERP (exposure and response prevention) for OCD. I aim to create a space for you where you feel heard and your strengths are recognised and valued. EMDR and other trauma treatments can be helpful for a range of issues including acute, single-incident traumas or repeated traumas such as those experienced in relationships or with family.
My clients often come to therapy wanting to better understand themselves, build healthier connections, heal old wounds, or live more authentically. Whether you're exploring your gender or sexuality, processing religious or cultural trauma, navigating non-traditional relationships, or simply trying to feel more at ease in your own skin, I’m here to help. We’ll work together, at your pace and on your terms, to understand what isn’t working and create a life that you are excited about.
