Approach

Treatment Approaches
CBT: Cognitive behavioural therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
PsychoanalysisRecommended for those who want to explore how their unconscious mind and early experiences affect their current behaviors and feelings.

I specialize in Transference-focused Therapy (TFP). It's a method with psychoanalytic origins, this approach was developed by Dr. Otto Kernberg and colleagues at the Institute of Personality Disorders in New York City. This approach in psychotherapy is effective in working with people with special features and character disorders, personality disorders (borderline, narcissistic disorder, etc.). Unlike classical psychoanalytic approaches, this is a more structured therapy that allows you to solve specific difficulties and tasks associated with character structure disorders, for example, chronic emotional stress, difficulties interacting with other people, impulsivity.

The main task of TFP is to change the structure of character, habitual patterns of perception of oneself, the world and others, so that as a result of this a person can come to a clearer and more realistic perception, feel more emotionally stable, build satisfying relationships with people, be productive at work or study, and enjoy recreation.

In the course of therapy, a person's dysfunctional patterns, ways of thinking and attitude to emotions, ways of interacting with other people are studied, which helps to change the structure of character and its characteristics. The therapist helps to discover these patterns, understand and process the emotions associated with them, which are not always realized.

I also work with people with eating disorders and disorders (using a cognitive behavioral approach CBT-E), with problems such as

  • overeating, feeling guilty after eating
  • lack of hunger/satiety
  • restriction cycle-overeating
  • constant thoughts about food, appearance, weight loss
