About me

Hello, I’m Megan. I’m a British therapist based in Amsterdam, working with adults in English and French. I grew up between England and France, and have since lived in Sweden and the Netherlands. Living across different cultures has shaped how I understand identity, belonging, and the subtle ways our environment influences how we think, feel, and relate to ourselves. This perspective gently informs my work, supporting you in reconnecting with yourself in a way that feels grounded and authentic.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Counselling from the United Kingdom. Alongside my academic training, I’ve specialised further in working with OCD and anxiety. I’ve completed certifications with the NOCD Academy in:

  • Understanding and Treating Harm-Themed OCD
  • Fundamentals of Exposure-Based Therapy for OCD and Anxiety Disorders

My work integrates ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), and mindful, body-based approaches. I believe that meaningful change comes not only from understanding your thoughts, but also from how you relate to them — and from feeling more connected to your body.

I offer therapy in person in a peaceful setting in central Amsterdam, as well as online.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CBT: Cognitive behavioural therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
DBT: Dialectical behaviour therapyRecommended for those who want to learn skills to manage intense emotions and improve their relationships, especially if they feel easily overwhelmed.
Holistic approachRecommended for those who want to address their mental health through a balanced focus on mind, body, and spirit.

My work is rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindful CBT, alongside Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for anxiety and OCD. This means we look closely at patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, noticing how they show up in daily life and relationships.

Often, unhelpful patterns are influenced by early experiences or long-held beliefs. Together, we explore these patterns with curiosity and care, considering how they might be reframed, adjusted or accepted in a way that supports healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

I also integrate attention to how experiences are held in the body, helping clients connect mind and body in a gentle, grounded way. Sessions are collaborative and paced to what feels manageable, creating a space where reflection, insight, and practical change can happen safely.

I aim to provide a supportive, inclusive space for people of all backgrounds, identities, and orientations, where therapy feels steady, respectful, and attuned to your needs.

Experience

I'm Megan, and I work with women who are struggling, feeling stuck or simply know they need something to change.

Maybe you're caught in cycles of anxiety and overthinking, struggling with your self-worth, navigating a difficult relationship or trying to find your feet after a major life change. Maybe you're too hard on yourself, feel responsible for everyone else, or look at your life and wonder why you don't feel as happy as you thought you would.

Through counselling and coaching, I help women break free from patterns that keep them feeling stuck, build unshakeable self-trust, and create healthier relationships with themselves and others.

Together, we work towards a life where you feel more confident in who you are, empowered to make your own choices, and free to become the woman you want to be.

Education

I hold a first-class honours degree in Psychology and Counselling from the UK, alongside further training in evidence-based approaches, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP). My work draws on psychological understanding and practical tools, combining reflection on thoughts, beliefs and behaviours with awareness of emotions and bodily experiences.
