My overall approach is person-centered and integrative, combining my knowledge and experience in Art Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Logotherapy.
In a free 15-minute-get-to-know-session* we can discuss what mix is the most suitable option for you (conversation-based, art-based, a bit of both). You can choose to book a single-session or a longer-term committment (lower rates), and in case you are curious about the therapeutic power of art-based interventions, you can decide if you prefer having these integrated into the 60-minute videocalls or as an activity for inbetween the sessions.
I place a lot of emphasis on active listening and asking thoughtful questions, and bring a lighthearted, encouraging, compassionate and (if appropriate) humourous mindset to my sessions.
Here a short overview of the approaches I use:
Narrative Therapy
A narrative therapist assists clients in finding empowering narratives, that help (re)shape or clarify their identity in a way that is both non-directive and non-intrusive. Narrative Therapy is about exploring your values, reflecting on your beliefs and creating stories about yourself and your life that are helping you navigate past, current and future challenges.
Logotherapy (meaning-centered psychotherapy)
Logotherapy is about helping people with (a lack of) meaning or purpose in their lives. Problems are elaborated as much as needed, but the focus is on solutions and on new perspectives on what needs to be changed or accepted instead.
Art Therapy (art psychotherapy)
Art Therapy is a form of psychotherapy using different media and selected materials to explore, reflect on and express experiences, thoughts and emotions. It improves self-regulation, relaxation, memory and self reflection. Artistic knowledge or "talent" are not required.
I am also trained in ACT, CBT, mindfullness-based therapy and meaning-centred dream analysis.
