I am a German- and English-speaking clinical psychologist with several years of experience supporting expats through relationship and identity-related challenges. I provide evidence-based psychological counselling online
Living abroad often comes with significant emotional challenges. Many of my clients experience changes in their relationships, increasing conflict, or a growing sense of uncertainty about who they are — especially when their familiar social support system is no longer in reach.
I know from my own experience what it feels like to live abroad as an expat and feel lost or emotionally isolated. This is why I have specialized in psychologically supporting people living abroad who are facing relationship and identity-related issues.
As a psychologist, I have worked in a variety of clinical and outpatient settings. Throughout my work, I have repeatedly seen that people often hesitate for a long time before seeking support — often due to shame, uncertainty, or anxiety. For this reason, I offer a free and non-binding initial consultation, giving you the opportunity to share your situation and then decide whether further counseling feels right for you.
If you would like to schedule an initial consultation or have questions about the counseling process, feel free to send me a message.
In my work, I offer a safe, non-judgmental and fully confidential space where you can speak openly about what is going on in your life. Many of my clients are expats or people living abroad who find themselves in relationship struggles, identity crises, or periods of emotional overload. Having worked with migrants and expats for several years, I am familiar with the specific psychological challenges that come with relocation, long-term adaptation, and living between cultures.
Our work begins with a free, non-binding initial consultation. This first session is focused on understanding your concerns in depth, defining goals together, and developing an initial idea of how we might work towards them. Often, it already becomes clear that the process is about gaining inner clarity, questioning long-standing patterns of thinking and behaviour, and creating room for choice and agency. After the initial consultation, you can take your time to decide whether you would like to continue working together.
My approach is evidence-based and primarily grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Together, we explore how unhelpful thought patterns, beliefs and emotional responses may be contributing to your current difficulties — and how these can be gradually modified. The aim is not to judge or “fix” you, but to increase understanding, flexibility and choice in how you respond to challenges.
Most clients start with weekly sessions and gradually space them out over time. An important part of the process is the work you do between sessions. For this reason, we usually agree on small, concrete goals or exercises at the end of each session, helping insights from counselling translate into meaningful changes in everyday life.
