I was born in London (1965) and am a native English speaker.I have been a performing & improvising musician/artist since the early 80s, playing with many wonderful people, groups & situations from curious and obscure locations to international venues.
Being the son of immigrant Spanish / Italian cooks, I continued to enjoy food, but decided instead to play in punk / psychedelic/ ambient/impro-art rock bands, and eventually study music formally. I decided to do a master's in music therapy and - in the words of our memorable music therapy lecturer Han Kurstjens, 'professionalise' my experience: sharing how music helped me in recreation, engaging with community, identity, discipline, expression, listening and perhaps most importantly in creativity.
The clinical & conscious use of music can help you relax, guide, explore, express, interact, challenge & enjoy yourself. As our responses to music are hard-wired, you are not required to be a musician or have any instrumental ability to participate. You will respond to music anyway. However, if you are a musician you are just as welcome. Whether you consider yourself articulate or find words not so easy (if at all), I am open to working with children & adults alike in an online or in-person setting. You are always welcome to bring your own instruments, voice, words or musical tastes to the table. From there we can play, listen and (maybe) talk!
