I hold a Masters in Social Work from New York University (NYU). I am Licensed and have over 20 years of experience providing clinical social work support and counseling services through private organizations and medical centers, and for the past year, via Telehealth. I enjoy helping others learn to improve their lives and situations, I believe everyone needs help sometimes, and working with others keeps me engaged in the journey of life.
We will connect via Telehealth, we will turn off other electronics that may interrupt or distract. We want to create a comfortable, safe environment where you feel open to expressing yourself, so private on my end and private on your end. This is your time, but part of my role is to keep us focused on the purpose you are seeking supportive therapy. I will want to understand the communication style that is effective for you, but I lean towards a direct, open communication style. During our initial sessions, we will talk about what brings you to therapy, find out if you have specific goals, explore what those may be, break down goals into manageable bites, and develop a treatment plan on a timeline that feels reasonable. We will talk about what brings you to therapy, explore your history with therapy, we will identify your strengths and what is working for you, and begin to identify some of the barriers or places where you feel stuck. We will talk about making a treatment plan and timeline in sessions one and two, and re-evaluate the plan as we move forward.
