I'm a developmental psychologist supporting individuals with everyday challenges. I offer a collaborative space using solution-focused and CBT approaches to help you find clarity going forward.
Hi, I’m Sára, a NIP-registered psychologist based in the Netherlands.
My personal and professional experiences have shaped the kind of psychologist I am today, grounded in a longstanding interest in how people grow and change, and how our relationships and environments shape the way we experience ourselves and the world around us.
Moving to the Netherlands to study psychology became an important part of this journey, both personally and professionally. As an international student, I experienced firsthand the challenges of studying, building relationships, navigating a new system, and finding your place in a new country. These experiences are a big part of why supporting people living abroad has become an important part of my work.
Neurodivergence is another area that has become personally meaningful to me. Having a neurodivergent sibling has given me a personal perspective on how differently people can experience and communicate with the world, and how these differences can shape family dynamics and relationships. It also sparked my professional interest in supporting neurodivergent children, adolescents, and their families.
What I can support you with
Alongside these personal experiences, my professional work has allowed me to support people at different stages of life, from children and adolescents to university students and adults.
Ultimately, I see psychology as a collaborative process of making sense of where you are, understanding what has shaped you, and exploring where you would like to go next. I hope our work can help you approach yourself and your relationships with greater understanding, clarity, and self-compassion.
My Approach
I believe meaningful change happens when we work together and you are an active part of the process. My approach is primarily solution-focused, complemented by CBT techniques. I draw on my clinical training and experience, as well as personal experiences that have shaped my understanding of people, relationships, and neurodiversity. Rather than telling you what you should do, I use questions, reflections, and practical tools to help you better understand yourself and discover what works for you.
I aim to create a warm, calm, open, and neuroaffirmative space where you can feel heard and accepted without judgment. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. We can take time to understand what brings you to therapy, what you would like to be different, and what kind of support would feel most helpful. I adapt my approach to you and your needs, whether that means exploring thoughts and feelings, understanding patterns, or working towards practical steps and solutions. You don’t have to know exactly what you need; we can figure that out together.
I currently work as a freelance psychologist, supporting adults as they navigate everyday challenges such as stress, loneliness, and career-related questions. I also support autistic children and adolescents. I also work as a junior therapist at a care centre, where I support neurodivergent children and adolescents.
Alongside my clinical work, I work as an Academic Mentor for high school students, helping them strengthen their academic profiles and prepare for university applications.
I have also volunteered with All Ears, a student-led service supporting students experiencing stress and other challenges during their studies. In this role, I provided one-to-one support to students using Motivational Interviewing skills. In addition, I have volunteered with several organizations throughout my studies, including UNICEF, SOS Gyermekfalva, and a special needs school.
