I am a psychologist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology from Utrecht University and experience supporting children, adolescents, and families with a range of challenges, including anxiety, social withdrawal, executive functioning difficulties, and eating-related concerns. My work has included diagnostic assessment, one-on-one guidance, and group workshops, all tailored to the developmental stage and personal needs of each client.
Alongside my clinical practice, I have built projects that bring psychology into everyday life in an accessible and engaging way. In these, I focus on the connection between mental health and lifestyle—especially the roles of sleep, stress, and nutrition in shaping psychological well-being. Through creating workshops, resources, and educational content, I support individuals in developing a healthier relationship with food and their bodies, while also promoting resilience, balance, and recovery. These projects reflect my commitment to combining evidence-based care with holistic, practical strategies that clients can integrate into daily life.
Having lived in the Netherlands for the past five years, I bring an international perspective and cultural sensitivity to my work. I am fluent in English and Turkish and currently improving my Dutch, which allows me to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds. As a freelance psychologist, I aim to combine professionalism with warmth, offering support that not only addresses current difficulties but also empowers individuals and families to thrive in the long term.
My therapeutic style is collaborative, supportive, and practical. I believe that a safe and trusting relationship is the foundation of effective therapy, especially with children and adolescents. I take time to truly listen to clients and their families, making sure they feel understood while also working together on clear, achievable goals.
I adapt my approach to the individual needs of each client, drawing on evidence-based methods while keeping sessions flexible and client-centered. For some, this may mean strengthening coping skills and executive functioning; for others, it may involve addressing anxiety, self-image, or eating-related concerns. In all cases, I focus on equipping clients with tools that not only help in the present but also support their long-term well-being. In addition, I work from a holistic perspective, recognizing how lifestyle factors such as sleep, stress, and nutrition influence mental health. When relevant, I integrate these elements into therapy in a gentle and accessible way, helping clients connect their daily habits with their emotional and cognitive functioning. I also value systemic collaboration, working together with parents, teachers, or other professionals when helpful, to create an environment that supports growth beyond the therapy room.
Above all, I aim to combine professionalism with warmth, creating a therapeutic space where clients feel safe to explore, learn, and grow, while building the resilience and balance they need to thrive.
