Hi, I’m Laken Doty. I work with children, teens, and adults who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or impacted by stress and trauma. Many of the people I support are sensitive, thoughtful, and deeply aware, yet find it difficult to fully relax or feel at ease in their bodies.
I hold a Master of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Forensic Psychology, and my work is grounded in trauma-informed, somatic care. I specialize in nervous system regulation and draw from both clinical training and lived experience to meet clients with warmth, patience, and respect for their individual pace. I believe healing happens best when people feel safe, seen, and supported.
Still Light Therapy was created as a gentle, welcoming space where therapy doesn’t feel rushed or overwhelming. Whether working with a child, teen, or adult, my goal is to help clients build trust in themselves, feel more regulated in their bodies, and move through life with greater clarity and ease.
My approach is trauma-informed, somatic, and nervous-system focused. Rather than pushing insight or revisiting experiences before there is enough internal safety, we focus on regulation, stabilization, and building capacity over time. Sessions are collaborative, paced, and guided by what feels most supportive for the client.
I integrate body-based awareness, grounding practices, and nervous system education to help clients better understand their stress responses and develop tools they can use in everyday life. When appropriate and desired, I may also incorporate gentle energy work or Reiki as an optional, supportive practice. This is always client-led, consent-based, and integrated thoughtfully into the therapeutic process.
With children and teens, sessions are developmentally supportive and may include movement, creative or body-based regulation tools, and age-appropriate grounding practices. Across all ages, my goal is to create a space that feels calm, safe, and relational—where healing can unfold naturally, at a pace that feels right.
