During my undergraduate studies in Psychology at METU, I gained a rich professional experience by working in different clinics in Ankara, Adana and Belgium. After graduating with high honors, I became a member of the Turkish Psychological Association. I still continue to develop my expertise in mental health through recent methods and trainings.
I have worked closely with my clients with various disorders such as depression, panic attacks, bipolar disorder, phobias, paranoia, anxiety, and obsessive compulsive disorder. I also provide counseling services on relationship problems, work life and daily life complaints.
I mainly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my individual sessions. In couple therapy and divorce therapy, I work with an Emotion-focused Therapy approach.
A Cognitive Behavioral Therapy session lasts about 50 minutes. In the first one or two sessions we focus on getting to know the client and their complaint. Then our actual therapy sessions begin. Before each session, I ask my client to solve short questionnaires of 6-7 questions in which they evaluate themselves. At the end of each session, I present them with a form to evaluate me and our session. During the session, we may need to set tasks for the client to think about or implement until the next session. Basically two specialists work together. I am the mental health expert and my client is the expert of herself and her life. Collaboratively, we focus on resolving complaints and the client's goals.
