About me

I was born and raised in Germany, where I completed my academic education, and I have spent most of my adult life living and working in Latin America, particularly in Guatemala. I hold degrees in Psychology, Educational Sciences, Sociology, and Spanish Studies, giving me a broad understanding of mental health, human behavior, emotional development, and the social factors that influence well-being. As a psychologist, I have worked both in private and community-based settings for more than two decades. My professional experience includes working with community health clinics, educational institutions, international organizations, and non-profit programs, supporting individuals facing stress, anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, grief, and other emotional difficulties. Through this work, I have developed a deep appreciation for the complexity of human experiences and the importance of providing compassionate, individualized support. My approach is guided by the belief that every person is more than their symptoms. I am interested in understanding individuals within the context of their relationships, life experiences, strengths, and challenges. I aim to provide a supportive space where clients can develop greater self-understanding, resilience, and emotional well-being while working toward meaningful and lasting change.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
Clinical psychologyRecommended for those who need help with diagnosing and treating more complex mental health issues, often involving assessments and evidence-based treatments.
Holistic approachRecommended for those who want to address their mental health through a balanced focus on mind, body, and spirit.
Solution-focused therapyRecommended for those who want quick, practical solutions to their problems without focusing too much time on the past.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and respect for each individual’s unique life experience. I view therapy as a collaborative process in which clients are supported in exploring their emotions, thoughts, relationships, and personal challenges within a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment. I believe that meaningful psychological work begins with a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, openness, and genuine human connection. My work is informed by person-centered and humanistic approaches, while also integrating psychological understanding of emotional processes, interpersonal dynamics, stress, and resilience. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I aim to understand each person within the context of their individual history, relationships, environment, and personal resources. I believe that emotional difficulties often reflect complex interactions between life experiences, internal conflicts, social contexts, and coping patterns. In therapy, I strive to create a space where clients feel heard, understood, and emotionally supported. Many people seek therapy during periods of anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, life transitions, stress, grief, low self-esteem, or feelings of disconnection. My role is to accompany clients with empathy and professional guidance as they develop greater self-awareness, emotional clarity, and healthier ways of coping with challenges. In addition to my academic training in psychology, I am also a licensed Kinesiologist (Touch for Health). This training expanded my understanding of the connection between emotional well-being, stress regulation, and the relationship between body and mind. While my therapeutic work is grounded in psychological practice, this additional perspective contributes to a more holistic understanding of emotional health and personal balance. I value an approach that combines professional knowledge with warmth, reflection, and authenticity. Some clients seek therapy as a space for emotional processing and self-exploration, while others are looking for practical support in navigating specific life situations or emotional difficulties. I aim to provide individualized support that respects each client’s personal history, strengths, and process of growth. I believe that seeking psychological support is a meaningful step toward self-care and personal development. My intention is to offer a supportive therapeutic space where clients can explore their experiences openly, strengthen their inner resources, and work toward greater emotional well-being, self-understanding, and resilience.

Experience

15 years in practice
I have worked as a psychologist in the fields of mental health, psychosocial support, and emotional well-being, accompanying adults from diverse cultural and social backgrounds in both Latin America and Europe. My experience includes working with clients from all over the world, mainly English-, Spanish- and and German-speaking populations, both in person and online. Over the years, I have provided psychological support in community health settings, educational environments, private practice, and mental health-related programs. This work has allowed me to accompany individuals and families through processes of self-reflection, personal growth, emotional adjustment, and the development of psychological resilience. Working across different cultural contexts has also strengthened my understanding of the diverse factors that shape mental health, well-being, and human experience. My work is grounded in a person-centered and holistic understanding of psychology, with a strong emphasis on empathy, authenticity, and the therapeutic relationship. In addition to my academic training in psychology, I completed professional training in Touch for Health Kinesiology, which broadened my understanding of the connection between emotional well-being, stress regulation, and the body–mind relationship. My goal is to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive therapeutic space where clients can deepen self-understanding, strengthen their inner resources, and enhance their overall well-being.
