Having lived in several cities in Greece and abroad, I am now based in Athens where for the past four years I have been working in private practice with adults and adolescents. Alongside this, for the past six years I have been working in schools and in Centers for Educational and Counseling Support and Assessment, supporting children, adolescents, and parents through a range of emotional, behavioural, and developmental difficulties. I find that combining individual and collaborative clinical work supports continuous professional development.
Earlier in my career, while working in a child and adolescent psychiatric department in a Greek hospital, I was involved in providing psychological assessment and support through telepsychiatry to residents of remote Aegean islands. At the time, I was somewhat sceptical about online therapy and whether it could offer the same depth as in-person sessions. Over time, this experience shifted my perspective, as I saw that meaningful therapeutic work can also take place online. Since then, a significant part of my work has been conducted online, particularly with individuals who live outside Athens or abroad.
