About me

Hi! I am Katerina, a licenced psychologist from Greece with a master's in Behavioural and Cognitive Neuroscience, and a trainee in CBT psychotherapy. My deep interest in the way different people see things and act upon them as well as understanding the biology behind them has led me to the exploration of all factors that affect one's perception and behaviour. Understanding these, we'll be able to work towards efficient thought patterns and promote healthy behavioural habits.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CBT: Cognitive behavioural therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
Solution-focused therapyRecommended for those who want quick, practical solutions to their problems without focusing too much time on the past.

My clinical and academic experience has shown that Epictetus's quote "People are not disturbed by things, but by the views, they take of them." is true. Indeed, science supports that our brains/minds are the ones creating the reality we are experiencing, which is uniquely subjective to every living creature. Now, according to what we think we perceive -which is by default influenced by prior experiences and habitual thought patterns -, we unavoidably end up feeling and behaving in certain ways, many times dysfunctional. Our goal will be to firstly detect automatic thoughts, identify the distorted thought patterns that produce them, and secondly replace them with more rational and positive thoughts. In this way, by changing the way we view things, we'll be able to ameliorate the way we feel -emotionally and physically. My ultimate goal is for you to become the therapist of yourself, having the tools to cope with struggles that might come in the way! Our first get-to-know 30min session will be free of charge. In this way, you can decide whether I am suitable for you and wish to continue.
