I would be honored to be your companion in discovering and embracing your authentic self. My goal is to promote independence, growth and resilience whilst enhancing your wellbeing .
I come from Athens, Greece where I returned back to once the pandemic ended after studying and living in Canada for 6 years. During my undergraduate studies in Canada in the field of Biology, I soon discovered my passion about Psychology and shifted my direction towards this field with every chance I got. The first couple years were particularly hard for me, being a study abroad student away from my home and family. I wanted to help myself out and figure how to manage my new life circumstances while keeping track of my academic duties. I became keen on reflecting on my behaviors and the way I react to various instances and stressful situations. With the proper support I was able to show compassion, and nurture myself, gaining back my confidence. Soon then, my choices revolved around helping people by volunteering in different settings. Finally, I graduated my bachelor’s degree with Honors, majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology. I continued my Masters studies in Counseling Psychology and Psychotherapy in Greece. During my last year I completed my clinical practice where I worked with young adults using an integrative approach on an individual and group setting basis. My experience so far, has enabled me to be highly adaptive to multicultural environments which has given me a better understanding of how such differences may affect us and despite that, how common the human condition is. Still, I wish to deepen my connection and relation to diversity as part of my ongoing efforts to evolve my work as a therapist and my empathy as a human being.
What I value the most in psychotherapy is building a strong and trusting therapeutic environment. The basis of this foundation is transparency, and a safe space free of judgment which I strive to provide as a professional. My knowledge in biology is useful in explaining the presence of certain bodily symptoms which I find is essential in gaining insight and understanding of a situation, as we work towards coping with it. I like to work in a collaborative manner, in which we collectively decide upon the best course of action based on our set goals. Through an integrative approach, there is a plethora of tools we can utilize in a meaningful way, tailored to the uniqueness of each individual. This therapeutic style allows for challenging thoughts, behaviours and identifying patterns. Through this way we learn how we behave and react to situations and how to handle them more efficiently in a holistic approach. By incorporating Cognitive-Behavioral with mindfulness interventions, the mind and body connection is established resulting in increased awareness, sense of self and growth. I would love to hear your story and potentially be part of your next chapter.
