About me

Hi! I am a qualified trauma counselor specialising in cultural diversity, and I have a whole Youtube channel dedicated to this (https://shorturl.at/G3a4O). You're welcomed to check it out. Clients refer to me as open, knowledgeable, and sensitive (Clients Reviews: https://bit.ly/ysibprofile)...not a surprise when you have lived in 15 different cultures! I speak French, Italian, and English, and I’ve supported clients from many a world, sometimes by offering practical tools to navigate complex lives of travel, work, and family, and at other times, by building the self-compassion needed to grieve, grow, and move forward with purpose. I look forward working with you!

Approach

Treatment Approaches
EFT: Emotionally focused therapyRecommended for couples or individuals who want to strengthen emotional connections in relationships by exploring feelings and attachment.
Person-centered approachRecommended for those looking for a supportive, non-judgmental space where they can lead the conversation and explore their feelings at their own pace.
Systemic therapyRecommended for those who want to understand how their relationships and environments influence their behavior and emotions, particularly within family or organizational systems.
Therapy with me is above all a collaborative journey that begins by identifying what you need most in the present, and moves on by delving deeply into your past experiences. Together, we explore how your beliefs, early life experiences of family, character, and cultural influences, have influenced every choice you make. In goal-focused therapy, my work with you will center on specific, actionable outcomes—whether that’s changing patterns of behavior, making pivotal decisions, or improving relational dynamics. In deeper developmental trauma work, we really dive into your family experiences, character, and your social and physical environment. When you come to see me as a family or couple, we also pay attention to inter-generational patterns, unconscious models of intimacy, and communication. In each case, I am confident that your work with me will bring you to a place of clarity and deep understanding about how, beneath it all, you remain deeply lovable and utterly unrepeatable — a singular presence in this world.

Experience

6 years in practice380+ sessions on It's ComplicatedAlmost 2 years at It's Complicated
I opened my private practice in 2020 in Bansko Bulgaria and ever since I have been working with people from all over the world. I have learned how to deal with complex trauma histories that make relationships really difficult, how to channel diverse cultural expectations, how to deal with many different forms of PTSD, including addictions, and how to be sensitive to both men and women and their different modalities. I also work as a Research Assistant for the University College Dublin, in Ireland, and thus remain academically active.

Education

Despite education never being the soul of my therapeutic approach, which is rooted in compassion and presence, I believe my educational journey mirrors my commitment to understanding the human experience in its multifaceted complexity. My Master’s in Counseling and psychology degree, for instance, exposed me to a wealth of knowledge about the body-mind relationship, and my Master’s in Human Ecology enriched my understanding of how culture, economics, and environment intersect with personal identity, and how all these dimensions are so very important. Currently I am completing a Trauma Certificate with Bessel Van der Kolk, but I have pursued certificates in Art Therapy, participated in conferences on screen time, the use of psychedelics, Aboriginal issues, etc. By far, however, the most enriching education comes from my work with people...my supervisors for instance, who inform my work with wisdom, anecdotes, and compassionate solutions, but also, and perhaps especially my clients, who each bring me to a new world.
