🏳️🌈Queer body/somatic psychotherapist with over 20 years experience. I offer a nurturing space, enabling healing & growth by accessing your core resources & identifying negative scripts & behaviours.
Originally from Dublin, Ireland, I spent almost two decades working in diverse social settings before turning to psychotherapy. I wanted to find more effective ways to support people through trauma, emotional pain, and crisis. I trained in body psychotherapy in London and Cambridge, completed my degree in Ireland, and am a fully accredited member of the European Association of Body Psychotherapists (EABP). For the past 18 years, I have lived in Germany, offering psychotherapy both online and in-person in Berlin.
My Approach
When we experience trauma or chronic conflict, our bodies react long before our minds can process the event. My work combines traditional psychotherapy with somatic awareness to help you safely digest difficult emotions. I provide a compassionate, ethical, and deeply supportive space grounded in rigorous training and continuous supervision.
Who I Work With
Couples in Conflict: I help partners who feel stuck in repetitive, painful arguments that trigger fight, flight, or freeze responses. Together, we move past "talking in circles" to decode your nervous system reactions, practice somatic co-regulation, and rebuild safe emotional intimacy.
Individuals:
I specialize in supporting those who feel numb, lost, isolated, or invisible. Through being truly seen and validated, you can gently integrate past trauma, find your grounding, and foster deeper self-connection. In my practice, I offer a compassionate and supportive space where clients can reconnect with themselves.
As a body therapist, the work I do is trauma sensitive and non-invasive. Body therapy is an approach which works with each person as a whole being, so we focus not only on your mind and your thinking, but also your body, your feelings and your intuition. In short, all of you, including your conscious and unconscious mind. In turn, this may draw your own attention to the way you are, rather than getting lost in a limited idea of how you think you are or should be. It enables us to access what has been repressed and what wants to be expressed, to gain an understanding of the negative impact of certain life events and develop an awareness of how they may be influencing your body, thoughts, behaviour and choices in life.
There may be painful feelings of anger, shame, fear and grief but equally feelings of love, joy, pleasure, expansion and spontaneity that are buried under numbness, disconnection, tension or ‘body armouring’. By burying all of this we learned to adapt and navigate life with the best strategies available to us, but we may have cut off our true ‘aliveness’ and carry patterns of behaviour that no longer serve us. We get stuck in script, in the blue print and in the narrative of our past.
Themes I work with include:
Trauma, Bereavement, Conflict, Separation, Divorce, Suicide Ideation, Self-Harm, Abuse, Sexuality, Depression, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Stress Management, LGBTQI+, Anger Management, Expat Life- Overcoming fear of moving abroad, Culture shock, Lonliness, Homesickness.
I serve as a board member of the Irish Association for Body Psychotherapy, contributing to the development and promotion of high standards in the field. In this role, I support the association’s mission to advance body psychotherapy through ethical practice, professional training, and community engagement.
