I have been in therapeutic practice for over twenty years, in the NHS in the UK and in private practice in Berlin, Germany. I specialise in adult mental health, expat therapy and in student mental health counselling.
I am a long time expat, having lived in three countries to this point and raised third culture and trilingual children. I am a Counselling Psychologist (UK), a Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie (Germany) and a trained Dramatherapist with an interest in body-oriented therapies, as well as having practiced a number of holistic paths all my life: chi qong, Tai Chi, various paths of yoga, meditation, mindfulness, among others. I am a kundalini yoga teacher and dance Latin dances. I also have a research background and speak five languages.
I work within an Integrative framework, mainly encompassing existential phenomenology and constructionism, which means working with meaning in non-pathologising ways. My approach is underpinned by client-centred values and is tailored to the needs of each client. As an expat myself, I work sensitively with cultural difference and so-called, 'local' meanings (clients, meanings). I seek to empower the client to co-create meaning with me and find their own path forward .
