Having moved around much of the last decade, I know the struggles of beginnings, the insecurity of not knowing anybody, and the feeling of being lost even when using Google Maps. Step by step, I became more familiar with the surroundings, made friends, and became more flexible with the paths I took. In the end, I ended up loving every place I lived.
The beginning of a therapeutic process can be similar: You may be nervous or even anxious because you cannot know what to expect or you are afraid of what you might see and experience. You may ask yourself whether you will like me and my consultation room, how you should behave, or which interventions will help you. But session by session, you will become more familiar with the questions that I ask and experience that there is no way to behave except to just be. This way, you become an expert in your own feelings and what they want to tell you about your individual needs. The goal is to feel comfortable in your inner space: To know your ways, and also be flexible in taking other roads; to feel comfortable in many places, and still be curious to discover more; to enjoy the company of others, and just as well be able to spend an evening on your own.
Do you notice patterns that you experience as harmful or stressful repeating in your daily life? Do you feel insecure about yourself or your body, or suffer from social anxiety? Do you easily get into arguments with others? Do you feel stuck on your way to important life goals like finishing your studies or taking the next step in your career? Do you notice that you are not breathing properly and constantly feel in a rush, unable to concentrate on important things?
If you notice that you - metaphorically - always hurt your knee in the same spot, an evidance-based, psychodynamic approach can help you become more conscious of the origins of your individual inner conflicts. It can help you become more autonomous and self-determined in your life as an adult with individual needs and responsibilities.
I will help you to explore your inner self with my integrative and hollistic approach! How does this look? :)
First, it is important to have a kind of "match" with your psychotherapist, as the psychodynamic approach is highly dependent on trust and security in the therapeutic relationship. Therefore, I offer two sessions for 50 € each to get to know each other and for you to see if my approach suits you. Each session is 50 minutes.
If we decide that we would like to work with each other, we will direct our focus to your inner conflicts here and now. Signs of inner conflicts can be varied: a depressed mood, anxiety, pain, procrastination, body insecurity, sleeping difficulties, and so on. From there, we take a curious glance at the possible origins, which are often found in early relationships. The objective is for you to become more and more conscious of the impact of early experiences on you and your daily life.
Taking sessions privately rather than through insurance can be advantageous in that you avoid a long waiting list and the hurdles to diagnosis that come with particular establishments and insurances.
