About me

Please note, at the moment i can only offer online consultations. Currently i am a therapist in training at the German Association for Behavioural Therapy (DGVT). I studied clinical psychology in Berlgium and in Germany where I got my Master's degree. I am also licenced to work as a "Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie". Besides my formal university training i have an interest in mindfulness meditation and the more embodied form of it, called Tai Qi. Growing up in multicultural Luxembourg, having lived in different countries and with family ties in the Middle East, i am sensitive to the challenges associated with living in a culture that is different from your own.

I speak:

Location:

Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, 10997 Berlin, Germany

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CBT: Cognitive behavioural therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
MindfulnessMindfulness is the process of maintaining a purposeful moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, and surrounding environment.

There are areas in your life in which you experience difficulties or that are a cause of suffering. I am offering you a non judgmental space in which our first goal will be to reach a clear understanding of your situation and the challenges you are facing. We will develop a common language for those challenges, a language that will help you understand the patterns behind your suffering and also lets us define the changes you would like to experience. While current events may be a trigger for suffering, most of the time this suffering sits on top of certain patterns that have been formed a long time ago. If current events cannot fully explain the intensity of what you are experiencing we will have a deeper look at past experiences.

My background lies in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. That means in working with you, we will look at your thoughts, emotions and actions to make to get a deeper understanding of the current situation. Hereby you will not be reduced to a list of symptoms, but we will try to understand their function too. When necessary, we will include Mindfulness based practices and role playing exercices. These can allow you to experience deeper levels of your self and to bring those patterns to the surface. The nature of these deeper layers of the psyche are often closely related to your personal history. Therefore i focus in my work as much on the here and now as on your past (and future). I believe that anyone can benefit from a therapeutic relationship and that my support will allow you to initiate a process of personal growth that will reduce your suffering and increase your sense of well-being
