Hey everyone! I'm Nenufar, a spanish trans girl living in Berlin. I grew up in Madrid, where I studied a degree on psychology in Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. I did the last year of university in Yucatán, México, thanks to a scholarship that allowed me to live there for one year while I was finishing the degree. There I did my internship, that consisted in a social project aimed at primary school students who were experiencing problems of coexistence and school violence.
In my time after finishing psychology I gained experience volunteering in different projects in Madrid, focused on psychological accompaniment and emotional and structural support for migrant communities that had just arrived in Spain.
I moved to Berlin 3 years ago and in the last year and a half I did a masters on Sexual and Couples Therapy with a gender approach. I've been having patients for this time and I'm still accompanying them in their therapeutic process.
The communities that are my main focus are transgender and non binary people, queer people and anyone who is going through a process of questioning their own gender and/or sexuality. I have experience also working with sex workers as I've been part of a collective focused on working with them to fulfill their needs and demands.
My approach to therapy is first creating a safe space where the person has time to introduce themself without any type of categorisation. I don't work focused on getting a diagnose, in fact I'm against this way of carrying with a therapy. First the person has to be able to share all that they need to share, and the first sessions will be focused on that. From there I can create a history of the patient to help me understand them and their particularities. Once I have that I can focus on the specific problems and the reason of their consultation, and we can work on them with different tools used in sexology and couples therapies, as well as those helpful for people who are going through a transition or any type of self-discoverment.
