About me

I received my doctoral degree (PhD) from University at Buffalo (USA), where I studied at the Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis & Culture. I'm in psychoanalytic formation at the Lacan School of Psychoanalysis (LSP).

I invite you to contact me here or by e-mail at marta.e.aleksandrowicz@gmail.com to discuss your situation. I welcome individuals of diverse backgrounds and identities.

In addition to my ongoing training and formation, my research and interest in literature and philosophy shape how I listen and support creativity and free expression in the sessions. And my personal history of living in several countries, on two continents, and in different languages further guides me in my effort to create a space that welcomes individuals of international backgrounds and those with migrational and/or multilingual experiences.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CounsellingRecommended for those who want to talk through their emotional challenges with a professional in a safe, supportive environment.
Lacanian psychoanalysisRecommended for those who want to explore the unconscious mind through the lens of language and desire, focusing on understanding deeper motivations.
PsychoanalysisRecommended for those who want to explore how their unconscious mind and early experiences affect their current behaviors and feelings.

There are many reasons you might find yourself here, such as dealing with transitions and life changes, experiencing challenges in your relationships, or navigating difficult experiences. I offer an open and confidential space for you to speak and hear yourself in new ways.

I follow the psychoanalytic principle of free association. Thus, you are free to address anything that is on your mind or comes to you during the session: from exploring whatever feels confusing or challenging for you, to speaking about your daily life, dreams, fantasies, desires, memories, bodily experiences, as well as anything that you feel you lack words to explain or describe.

I believe that the psychoanalytic process offers the possibility to transform symptoms, challenges, and suffering into a path for discovering desire that is unique to each one of us. In this approach, a symptom isn't seen simply as a disorder, but as something in one's experience that wants to be heard and expressed. My work doesn't involve providing answers or making decisions for you. Rather, my role is to create the space where you can speak freely, to pay attention to what you say, and to accompany you in exploring possibilities and solutions that this process will open up for your life. The only condition for starting the sessions is your willingness to engage in the process.

My practice is not part of the medical network. Sessions are not covered by health insurance, are not tax deductible, and cannot be deducted as medical expenses.
