About me

My name is Catherine, I’m german and I live and work in Berlin. I'm driven by the desire to understand our existential experiences, and I aim to accompany you on your unique journey of self-discovery and growth.

I have a business background and with over 12 years of experience in leadership and fashion. I have always enjoyed relating to people from different cultural backgrounds and learning about relationships, communication and resilience. I understand the mental health challenges that can arise from working in fast-paced, highly performance-oriented environments.

Aiming for more purpose and change, I trained in 2020 as a business coach. While working as a coach, I realized that I wanted to go beyond offering strategies for success; I wanted to help my clients address deeper distress or self-limiting beliefs. This led me to therapeutic practice. Since 2022 I am a licensed non- medical practitioner for Psychotherapy and since 2023 I am in training at the Metanoia Institute in London as a Gestalt Therapist.

Tolerance, respect and approaching each other with love and kindness are my core values. My aim is to be an ally to minorities and those who face oppression and prejudice. I am committed to continuous learning and regularly attend supervision and training sessions to enhance my therapeutic skills and stay updated on the latest developments in the field.

"Change occurs when one becomes what they are, not when they try to become what they are not.”

  • Paradoxical Theory of Change/Arnold Beisser

Gestalt therapy does not only offer a method of therapy but a way of living and a philosophy to engage with the world around you and get in contact with yourself. It connects the body, mind and emotions through the process of awareness. At its best, awareness will help us to live our life’s more fully in the here and now.

Old patterns of dealing with difficult circumstances, stress, trauma or loss which once served a function (safety, coping, surviving) might be problematic now (anxiety, depression, self-doubt, isolation, numbing). In Gestalt we explore and seek to close “unfinished business” which represents an unresolved emotion, conflict or experience which impacts our present life and relationships.

Gestalt therapy utilizes your existing strengths and resources. Together we aim to create acceptance and a wider range of choice in your current situation. I provide a safe and supportive environment, working at a pace that suits your individual needs. My methods are flexible, evolving and unique to your personality. I work with tools such as practical exercises, embodiment, mindfulness, experimentation and visualisation. Whereby the dialogic relationship without judgements and asking questions remains the centre of our work. Our goal is to work together to uncover what's needed to foster peace and chart a path forward.
