As a psychological psychotherapist I offer counseling and soon psychotherapy for individuals | Online & in Berlin | English, German, Spanish | Focus: (Neuro-)diversity, expats, personal development, stress management.
I am a psychological psychotherapist with five years of professional experience.
About my background: I grew up in Germany as the child of a German father and a Uruguayan mother. As a neurodivergent, bicultural, and queer person, I often experienced what it means not to conform to the norms of the majority society and to be met with a lack of understanding. My personal journey of emotionally coping with this sense of otherness also informs and enriches my therapeutic work.
After completing my master’s degree in psychology, I moved to Berlin in 2020 to begin my training as a psychotherapist. I have worked particularly intensively with the following topics: depression and burnout, anxiety, neurodiversity (ADHD), health anxiety (hypochondria), prolonged grief, attachment and relationship difficulties, coping with separations, as well as interpersonal challenges and personality-related themes (narcissism, borderline traits, low self-esteem, dependency).
I offer counseling informed by cognitive behavioral therapy and will soon also offer psychotherapy.
Psychological counseling may be suitable for you if you would like support during difficult phases of life or if you have had a mental health condition in the past and are seeking assistance to stay healthy.
My approach focuses on understanding the development of individual problems in the context of your personal biography. We work together to explore how your difficulties make sense in light of your past. This allows you to approach yourself with greater compassion.
Once we have understood where your difficulties originate, I will further support you in making changes. I will assist you in breaking free from entrenched patterns of thinking and behavior. To do this, I will help you to better perceive your feelings and understand the underlying needs behind them. Together, we will develop effective strategies to meet these needs as well as possible. This way, you will be less reliant on problematic coping mechanisms, and a more fulfilling life will become possible.
My attitude toward my clients is compassionate, honest, supportive, and at eye level. I recognize that you are the expert on your own problems. At the same time, I offer you my expertise on how the human mind works.
Session availability: I offer in-person counseling on Sundays and online during the week. If interested, feel free to send me a direct message.
