"Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards."
Søren Kierkegaard
I would describe myself as approachable, understanding and empathetic. I have an open mind and am very interested in understanding my clients' perspectives and life worlds as best as possible, because only then can I help effectively. After all, it’s about the clients’ real-life situations and their goals.
Focal point of my work is the empowerment of my clients and supporting them in (re)discovering their own resilience, self care and self efficacy skills. I work resource oriented and with a humanistic point of view. Conveying psychoeducative information and working with the clients as equals is important to me.
Coming from a cognitive behavioral background I will support you in finding out which thoughts and behavioral patterns aren‘t helpful anymore. We will explore from where these originate and create new ones together. Verbalizing your emotions and needs is something we will do on a regular basis. It is also always helpful to practice how to communicate these to other people.

On a very personal level and why certain topics are important to me:
As a migrated PoC (I was born in Peru, and grew up in Peru/Austria/Germany), I would love to support individuals and BIPoC with or without migration history. Intersectionality and cultural sensitivity are a must.
I am committed to offering a safe and respectful space for people of all gender identities, sexual identities and who practice different relationship structures 🏳️🌈. I will always do my best to support communities that don’t fit the “normatives”.
I started working in the social sector while I was in uni. I had the opportunity to work with people from different age groups and backgrounds, both individually and in groups. When I moved to Berlin and decided to pursue training as a cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist, I was able to gain further professional and therapeutic skills through clinical work and patient treatment.
