About me

Originally from the US, I have been working in social worker and counselling roles in Germany for over 14 years, with a focus on helping people who are questioning their gender identity or sexual orientation. In the past few years, I've been training to becoming a licensed child and youth behavioral psychotherapist as well.

Due to my social work background and personal biography, I also am able to offer deep, authentic knowledge of social and medical services available in Berlin, and of struggles related to coming out, gender dysphoria, body image, chronic illness, neurodiversity, financial hardship, and migration.

I look forward to meeting you!

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CBT: Cognitive behavioural therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
CounsellingRecommended for those who want to talk through their emotional challenges with a professional in a safe, supportive environment.
DBT: Dialectical behaviour therapyRecommended for those who want to learn skills to manage intense emotions and improve their relationships, especially if they feel easily overwhelmed.

I can offer private-pay counselling sessions for adults online or in-person via "walk and talk" sessions. I use cognitive behavioral (CBT) and dialectical (DBT) techniques, and draw frequently on minority stress models and an understanding of the effects of structural and interpersonal discrimination when working with clients.

As I am still in training as a psychotherapist, I am not yet able to offer psychotherapy or make formal diagnoses.
