I live and work on the south coast of England. I've been a psychotherapeutic counsellor for 20 years and have worked in many different settings. I now work in private practice. I have been working online since 2008 and I am profoundly interested in what happens in online spaces and how we can use them most effectively to overcome traditional barriers. This is an area of ongoing research and professional exploration in which I am actively involved.
I work pluralistically, having been originally trained in a psychodynamic framework. I have undergone training in other modalities and now bring these together, collaborating with each client to establish a unique and integrated programme according to their needs. Pluralism provides a framework for this which very much accords with my understanding of effective therapeutic processes and also lends itself well to the uniqueness and differences found in online environments.
Mindfulness, self-compassion and creative forms of self-expression such as writing and art are often integrated into the work that I do and are fundamental to my own approach to life.
