Licensed clinical psychologist supporting adults and expats through anxiety, burnout, emotional overwhelm, and relationship difficulties through a warm, structured, trauma-informed approach.
Hello,
I’m Irina, a licensed clinical psychologist based in Brussels.
My path into psychology has been shaped both by professional experience and by a deep interest in what helps people heal, grow, and feel more at home within themselves. Before focusing on private practice, I worked for many years in demanding institutional and multinational environments, and this gave me a strong understanding of pressure, responsibility, high expectations, and the emotional cost of always having to function well. It also taught me how much can remain unseen behind competence, achievement, and self-control.
Over the years, I have become especially drawn to work that brings together emotional depth, clarity, and genuine human connection. What matters most to me is offering a space where people feel safe enough to be real — not judged, rushed, or reduced to a problem that needs to be fixed. I see therapy as a meaningful encounter in which a person can feel met with warmth, respect, and honesty, while also being supported to understand themselves more deeply.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist and also a certified Tony Robbins coach, and I continue to deepen my work through advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Systemic Psychotherapy, and EMDR. These trainings reflect something important to me: I believe people are shaped not only by thoughts, but also by emotions, relationships, life experiences, and the body’s way of carrying stress and pain. My intention is to offer a therapeutic space that feels human, grounded, and alive — a space where change can happen in a way that is both meaningful and sustainable.
I often support people who struggle with anxiety, burnout, overthinking, self-criticism, emotional overwhelm, low self-confidence, emotional eating or recurring difficulties in relationships. Together, we explore what is happening beneath these struggles, what keeps repeating, and what may once have helped you cope but no longer serves you. I believe symptoms usually make sense in the context of a person’s story, and part of therapy is gently making that story more understandable and workable.
My therapeutic style is warm, grounded, and collaborative. I work in a way that combines emotional depth with structure, because I believe therapy is most helpful when you feel both safe and supported, but also guided toward meaningful change. In our work together, I pay attention not only to the difficulties you are facing now, but also to the deeper patterns that may be shaping them: emotional habits, attachment experiences, inner beliefs, relational dynamics, and the way stress or past wounds may be held in the body.
My work is integrative and trauma-informed. I draw from clinical psychology, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Systemic Psychotherapy, Trained in EMDR (Level II), and coaching tools where appropriate. This allows me to adapt the process to the person in front of me rather than working in a rigid, one-size-fits-all way. Depending on your needs, we may focus on emotional regulation, relational patterns, unresolved experiences, body-based stress responses, or strengthening inner stability and self-trust.
I also care about therapy being useful beyond the session itself. Alongside insight and emotional processing, I help clients develop greater awareness, steadiness, and practical ways of responding differently in daily life. My aim is not to push change too quickly, but to support it in a way that feels safe, realistic, and lasting.
