My basic training is in person-centred psychotherapy.
I have full trust in the innate capacity of any human being to move in the direction of growth and healing. Most importantly, I believe that this capacity can be developed within the right therapeutic relationship (i.e., one that meets certain conditions).
This is the kind of therapeutic relationship that I always seek to build: a collaborative relationship, full of warmth and acceptance, through which I can provide all the necessary conditions for growth and healing.
I believe that true healing starts once you have the freedom to be yourself.
Because of this, my priority is to create a safe space for you. A space where talking about your feelings and experiences feels comfortable and liberating, not scary. My role is to understand all the hidden corners of your inner world, as you let me in more and more. Together, we can explore your suffering, its roots and what maintains it, in order to make room for change. I'm here to help you gain clarity about your feelings, and to help you relate to yourself and to your experiences in a different way, for a more harmonious relationship with yourself and with those around you.
The core values of my practice are:
Unconditional acceptance = It's essential for me to create a space where you can feel accepted and valued exactly as you are, in every moment. Without feeling the need to act in a certain way or another, or the need to hide any parts of yourself from me;
Empathy = I place the accent on active listening, paraphrasing what I hear from you and helping you put into words any details which are not clear to you. This is what helps me see things from your perspective, and what helps you feel like your experience is truly heard and understood;
Authenticity = My main concern is to participate in the connection between us in the most honest and authentic way possible. I don't hide behind the facade of an expert. Instead, I make sure that you feel constantly connected to my human side, because this is what fosters a close therapeutic relationship, in which you can feel free and safe;
Autonomy = I work in a non-directive manner. This means that the process is guided by you, at your own pace. You're the expert of your own life and I'm here to help you navigate more easily through all the feelings and the experiences that you face. My job is to help you access your inner resources and find your own solutions to your problems. I'm not here to limit your freedom or undermine your own inner wisdom by imposing any solutions or courses of action on you. I strongly believe in your ability to find your own path towards growth and transformation. My goal is to provide you with support and clarity on this path, so that you can discover your full potential. I know that it can be scary to hold the power and freedom of choice in your own hands, but I also know that this is the only real path towards healing.
