About me

I am a Clinical Psychologist based in Turkey, working with adolescents, adults, parents, and couples both online and in person.

My professional journey has taken me across clinical, educational, research, and community settings. After completing my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Ege University, I pursued postgraduate training in Family Counseling and was awarded a full merit scholarship for my master's degrees in Development-Oriented Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology and Clinical Psychology at TED University.

Alongside my clinical work, I have worked in schools, private practice, and community-based mental health projects. I have facilitated individual therapy, psychoeducational programs, and workshops for children, adolescents, parents, professionals, and organizations. My experience also includes research assistantships, university teaching assistantships, and trauma-informed support projects, including work with humanitarian aid professionals following the earthquakes in Turkey.

These diverse experiences continue to shape my perspective as a therapist. I value integrating clinical practice, research, psychoeducation, and creativity, while remaining curious about how people grow, adapt, and make sense of themselves throughout different stages of life.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
Art therapyRecommended for those who feel more comfortable expressing emotions through creativity and want to explore their feelings through art rather than talking.
CBT: Cognitive behavioural therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
Schema therapyRecommended for those who want to break out of negative patterns or "schemas" that they developed early in life and keep repeating.

I am particularly interested in how childhood experiences continue to shape our emotions, relationships, and parenting journeys. Many of the ways we cope, connect with others, and understand ourselves develop early in life and continue to influence us well into adulthood. As a result, many people come to therapy knowing what they “should” do, yet still find themselves repeating familiar patterns, struggling with difficult emotions, or feeling stuck despite their insight.

I believe therapy is not only about understanding where these patterns come from, but also about creating space for something new. Sometimes this means reconnecting with parts of ourselves that have been overlooked for a long time, listening more closely to our emotional needs, or rediscovering a more authentic, spontaneous, and compassionate way of relating to ourselves.

My work is primarily informed by Schema Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also integrating Art Therapy. Together, we explore recurring patterns, emotional needs, and practical ways of coping with life's challenges. An important part of this process involves developing a different relationship with emotions—not necessarily getting rid of difficult feelings, but learning how to stay present with them, make sense of them, and move forward alongside them.

I strive to create a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where people feel safe to explore their experiences, deepen self-understanding, and turn insight into meaningful and lasting change.
