I am a Registered Counsellor working primarily with adults navigating the lasting impact of trauma, particularly from childhood. I support clients struggling with anxiety, eating disorders, anger, and challenges around identity and sexual orientation. Considering Carl Jung’s quote of “until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate,” my work focuses on helping clients understand their emotional patterns and develop more effective ways of coping and relating. I offer individual, couples, and family counselling, both in-person and online.
Works with: Adults, older adolescents. Specialising in: Trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, family difficulties, life changes, loss/grief, and sexuality. Working in: English and Afrikaans.
My approach is psychodynamic, focusing on exploring unconscious patterns, past experiences, and relational dynamics that influence present behaviour. I work in a way that is both empathic and direct. Drawing from my experience in addiction settings, I am comfortable addressing resistance, avoidance, and defensive patterns, while supporting clients to develop insight, emotional awareness, and more effective ways of coping and relating.
