My counselling interest goes back 20 years, to introductory courses in 2004 and 2010. I volunteered as a listener for UK crisis support charity, Samaritans for three years from 2011.
As a member of National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), I have worked with people experiencing a range of conditions, including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, suicidal ideation, grief and loss, sex and relationship issues, abuse, and addiction.
I believe that talking, communication and connection lies at the heart of human wellbeing. It involves open and honest communication with ourselves, our loved ones, our friends, and our colleagues. But it's not always easy!
My initial therapeutic approach will always be person-centred, focusing on you and your experience of life right now. I'll attempt to understand things as you understand them. As our sessions and therapeutic relationship develop, we can discuss other approaches if they seem like they could be useful.
