I studied nutrition and then I transitioned in psychology, in an effort to help people with eating disorders, body image problems and people strangling with food and weight, achieve a healthy and balanced life and a positive body image. I have been working with people struggling with these kind of issues for the last 8 years. Seeing people making changes and transforming their lives, has made those 8 years the most fulfilling of my career.
I am using an integrative approach. I am assessing the needs, strong points and weaknesses of each individual person I work with and I try to adjust the way I work to those points for each person. In the first few sessions, I try to understand if the problem originates from a nutritional poing, a psychological point or a combination of the two, which helps in setting the goals in therapy. In the nutritional side of the problem, my goal is to guide people towards an intuitive way of eating, in which you can understand what your body needs and take care of your body by offering that. Similarly, we will work towards understanding what the psychological and emotional needs are and find a way to deal with those. By doing that, food stops being the only copying mechanism.
