I am especially passionate about helping clients navigate conflicts and find greater understanding, connection, and peace in their relationships.

One approach that many people find particularly valuable is chair work, which provides a calm and effective way to explore and work with different parts of yourself.
For example, it can help you work with self-criticism—the critical voice within you—and transform it into an inner ally that genuinely supports your well-being, relationships, and sense of peace.

I find this work especially meaningful because our relationships with others often begin with understanding what is happening within ourselves.
I believe that as we develop greater awareness and compassion for our inner world, we can create more harmony both within and in our relationships with others.

If you find yourself stuck—
-repeatedly experiencing difficult emotions in relationships,
-feeling uncomfortable around certain people,
-noticing patterns in your behavior you’d deeply like to change,
you don’t have to face it alone.

My session is especially helpful for people who resonate with these patterns :

-Fear of disconnection and rejection

-Self-sacrifice/Other-directedness

-Over vigilance and inhibition

-Impaired autonomy and performance

-Impaired limits

A particular strength of my work lies in addressing difficulties rooted in internal and relational patterns.

【Groups: Details at the bottom of the page】
I also facilitate small schema-informed coaching groups, for individuals who wish ongoing support in working with their patterns.
I’ve noticed how challenging life can be between sessions in difficult times, and I deeply value the role of social support in building resilience.
In a small group in a facilitated and structured space, you can work together with others who can relate to the challenges of these recurring patterns.

*Limited seats available for English speakers.*
Ongoing group sessions are €30.

*If you’d like to receive updates about future groups, please contact: tnb321@gmail.com.

*This program is intended for participants who are not in acute crisis. Also, if there are concerns about behaviors that could impact others, individual therapy may be recommended as an alternative to provide additional support.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CBT: Cognitive behavioural therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
Schema therapyRecommended for those who want to break out of negative patterns or "schemas" that they developed early in life and keep repeating.
Trauma informed careRecommended for those who have experienced trauma and need a safe, supportive space to heal at their own pace.

Depending on what feels most helpful for you, I work in an integrative way, drawing from approaches such as Schema Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma, CBT, humanistic (person-centered) approaches, chair work, somatic practices, IFS, and NVC.

I am a nationally licensed psychologist in Japan, providing bilingual (English/Japanese) online sessions for individuals and for groups.

People often tell me that they feel at ease and able to speak openly in our work together.

Experience

During graduate school, I supported individuals with neurodivergence and emotional regulation challenges at a university counseling center.

After certification, I have experience supporting English-speaking expats in Japan from diverse backgrounds, helping them adjust to a new life and cope with the unique challenges of navigating relationships in smaller communities.

Earlier in my career, I worked in coaching and training for years. However, after experiencing severe depression and PTSD myself—struggles that lasted longer than I’d hoped until I found help through schema therapy—I felt called to return to this field with a deeper sense of purpose. Today, I am dedicated to offer the kind of support I once needed myself : compassionate, practical, and grounded in lived understanding.

I also have been providing support through employee assistance programs within multinational companies, working with a diverse international client base across a wide range of concerns.

Other than facilitating groups for an addiction treatment center in Japan, I have also been providing sessions in private practice, working with adults and facilitating schema-informed groups.

Due to my background and regulatory considerations, I offer services outside Japan as coaching / group coaching with psychoeducation to those not currently in acute distress or crisis.

If you’re looking to better understand yourself and find what supports your peace of mind, you’re warmly welcome to reach out.
