If you’re feeling overwhelmed by stress or trauma, I offer you a safe space to come to rest, reconnect with yourself, and find your inner ground again.
Compassion and dignity are at the heart of my work and inspired me to found the association TraumaHelp Cologne. In both my private practice and the association, I’m deeply committed to nurturing healing, trusting relationships alongside my expertise in stress and trauma.
Born and raised in a working-class region of western Germany, I have also worked in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Today, I make my home in one of Germany’s most liberal cities, where staying connected to everyday realities and grounded perspectives is very important to me.
My trauma-informed, integrative approach includes methods such as NARM®, PITT, and systemic counseling. I offer a safe, compassionate space where you can gently reconnect with your feelings and needs, knowing you are fully supported. In moments of acute crisis, I also offer practical grounding tools you can use between sessions.
Before starting my private practice in Germany, I had the opportunity to work in a range of counseling and advisory roles, both at home and in conflict-affected countries – especially as a trauma advisor for Iraq and Afghanistan.
In 2021, following the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan, I both provided psychological support to Afghan local staff and coordinated the team involved in this effort. That experience touched me deeply and confirmed what I carry at the heart of my work: to be there for people when they are going through their hardest times.
I hold a state license to practice psychotherapy (Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie) and have completed over 1,000 hours of advanced training in trauma-informed and integrative counseling and therapy approaches. These include, in particular, the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM®) developed by Dr Laurence Heller and Psychodynamic Imaginative Trauma Therapy (PITT) developed by Prof Luise Reddemann. In addition, I am qualified in trauma counseling, systemic coaching, and conflict counseling. My Master’s degree in Conflict Studies provides a strong foundation for my deep understanding of both internal and interpersonal conflicts.
