About me

I offer counselling that is both Humanistic and Body-based. This means that I see each person as a whole — and I recognise that the body is an essential part of how we hold and carry our experience. What we go through doesn't stay in the mind alone. It lives in the body — in tension, in holding, in the patterns we keep returning to. I work through the body because it often carries what cannot yet be put into words. In our sessions, we listen not only to thoughts and feelings, but to sensations, to patterns, and to the quieter signals underneath. We go at your pace, staying close to what feels real. I WORK WITH: • Relationship difficulties and patterns • Difficult life transitions • Emotional integration and self-discovery • Body-based tension and stress • Work and career pressure • People-pleasing and boundaries • Self-worth and self-confidence • Loneliness and feeling disconnected • Feeling lost or stuck • Grief and loss • Difficulty with communication and connection As a somatic counsellor, I work differently to traditional talk-based approaches. Alongside exploring thoughts and feelings, we also listen closely to what the body is telling us — the subtle sensations, feelings, and impulses that arise beneath the surface. When we bring awareness to these signals, the body begins to find a voice. And when we can hear that voice, we start to access our own innate wisdom. This approach allows us to reach deeper parts of ourselves — and to come into contact with a genuine sense of well-being that is already there, waiting to be heard. I am trained in psychoanalytic theory and CBT, and I am able to hold space for complex and layered experiences. As a somatic counsellor, I am also trained to work with the body as an ally — using somatic awareness and relational skills to find embodied, creative ways toward resourcefulness, ease, and joy. I also offer Biodynamic Massage — a body-based practice that supports the body's own rhythm and sense of ease through touch. Sessions combine some talking with gentle, present-moment bodywork. This can leave people feeling more grounded, settled, and connected to themselves. I also offer low-cost sessions to a small number of clients, to make this work more accessible. If that is something you need, please feel free to ask.

What is somatic counselling? Somatic counselling — sometimes called body-based or body-centred counselling — works with the understanding that the mind and body are deeply connected. Our experiences don't only live in our thoughts; they also live in the body, in the way we hold tension, brace against stress, or feel heaviness in our chest before we can name why. When we're under pressure, the body responds. Muscles tighten. Breathing shallows. We might clench our jaw, feel a knot in the stomach, or notice a familiar heaviness settling in. In somatic counselling, these signals aren't ignored — they're listened to. They become information. A way in. Rather than only working with what the mind thinks, we also pay attention to what the body knows. The body holds feeling, pattern, and wisdom. Much of the emotional difficulty people experience comes from a disconnect between the two — we have learned to push through, to manage, to keep going. Somatic counselling gently invites a different kind of listening. In sessions, this might look like slowing down to notice what is happening in the body as we talk. It might be a sensation, a shift in breathing, an impulse or image. By staying close to these signals, we begin to hear what is underneath — and from there, something can start to move. This is not about performing or doing anything dramatic. It is simply about bringing the body back into the conversation, so that the whole of you can be present — and so that the change you are looking for can be felt, not just understood.

Experience

I have been practicing as a Body-Psychotherapist for the past three years, and have been providing Counselling, Psychotherapy, and Biodynamic Massage in Ireland. What I uniquely offer, is a space where the body has a voice, and we use that voice to help you come back to your deeper intuitive self. Once we begin to become skilled at listening to the body, we often find answers we've searched for all our lives. I work with all types of people, with all types of issues, but one thing I consistently do, is look for the signals that the body is giving. When we just can't figure out what we need, it's usually the body that knows, and we follow that. I work with traditional talk methods of course - and I include the somatic element. I also work with Biodynamic Massage, and have experience working through emotional blocks by using Biodynamic Techniques in an intuitive and organic way. If you're interested in this work. Education

My primary training is a Higher Diploma in Biodynamic & Integrative Psychotherapy. During this four year training, I worked with various therapeutic techniques such as Psychoanalysis, Jungian Psychology & Dreamwork, Eco-Psychology, and Somatic-Psychotherapy. 70% of this course was completed through group-work and proces work, meaning I had a lot of experience holding complex and difficult emotions within groups. This also gave me a unique set of skills in tuning into to somatic signals in both groups and individuals, and has given me a strong foundation for providing somatic counselling/coaching. As part of my course I completed a certificate of Biodynamic massage, Which I now offer as both alongside counselling. In Biodynamic Massage, I work with the body's innate life-energy to help 'melt' defensive holding patterns that arise in the muscle-structure of the body. I also hold an MSc in Neurophapmacology and a BSc in Envrionmental Science. Both my love for nature and human well-being, have since led me to to working with people in ways that are natural to human health and support the growth of innate wisdom.
