I'm M.Amin Abdolahpur (Amir), an MA graduate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kurdistan, and a psychodynamic therapist specialising in Transference-Focused Psychotherapy (TFP). I began my clinical work in 2021, right around the time I started my own personal therapy in this approach. I continue to receive specialised supervision in TFP, and the workshops and courses I attend are all part of deepening my work within this framework. In TFP, rather than suppressing or judging emotions, we explore them carefully, with curiosity and acceptance. Right now, I work with adults and adolescents. I see people who — regardless of a specific “disorder” label (depression, anxiety, OCD, relationship dissatisfaction, personality disorders) — keep encountering the same hidden, repeating patterns in their relationships. They move from one emotional pain to the next, often overwhelmed by intense and exhausting feelings. The second group is adolescents who are navigating the individual and interpersonal challenges that come with growing up and maturing.
