About me

If you are here, you may be carrying something that has become exhausting to hold alone, whether it is anxiety, self-criticism, feeling stuck, or a constant sense of needing to be better. Therapy can be a place to slow down, understand these patterns, and reconnect with yourself with more compassion.

Since childhood, I have been deeply curious about what shapes people’s inner worlds. This curiosity has taken me through my own experiences of self-development, including silent meditation retreats, improv theatre, and psychotherapy, and eventually led me towards a career in mental health.

Over the years, I have worked with people facing a wide range of challenges, while also facilitating theatre workshops for personal development, supporting children affected by trauma, conducting research in psychiatric settings, and training suicide hotline workers.

Having lived in both Pakistan and Denmark, I have experienced different cultural perspectives and understand the importance of feeling seen as an individual. I believe every person carries a unique story, and I feel privileged to support people as they explore theirs.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
Integrative therapy Recommended for those who prefer a flexible approach that combines different therapies to meet their unique needs.
Person-centred approachRecommended for those looking for a supportive, non-judgmental space where they can lead the conversation and explore their feelings at their own pace.

I create a warm, grounded and non-judgemental space. This is to support you in working with difficult, vulnerable, or stuck emotions. Together, we work to transform them into a source of growth and healing.

Emotions in general, can be seen as valuable signals that guide us about our needs and identify actions necessary to meet those needs. However, sometimes they can become unhealthy and unhelpful.

Examples of these could be feelings of debilitating shame, deep hopelessness, out of control anger, spiraling anxiety and stuck grief. No experience is too big or too small. In this space all feelings are welcome. Together we process them to bring more harmony and mental balance to your experience of living.

I primarily work with Emotion Focused Therapy. I also have training with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and Trauma therapy. I adapt my approach to match your needs. All approaches are supported by a connecting presence. Being gentle where needed, and productively challenging where needed.

Testimonials from previous clients:

I have been a client of Khizzer’s for over three years now and he has helped me move through some of the most significant shifts in my life with grace. He has an ability to know when to challenge thoughts, talk through or to witness my feelings in a way that feels understanding and without pressure. I really appreciate how he shares theory, experiments with exercises and gives me homework to work/read on between sessions relevant to my issues. He has built a lot of trust in me and would be eager to recommend him forward.
