Lisa Meighan is a psychotherapist registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS: 469007). She holds a BPS Approved Certificate in Clinical Supervision and has been in practice for nearly 10 years.
Lisa holds an MSc in Psychology, BSc Psychology (Honours), a level 4 Diploma in Counselling, and a level 5 Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Lisa has worked 1:1 with individuals in hospital settings and police stations alongside her own private practice. Lisa has recently completed a certificate in providing telehealth based services. Most recently, Lisa has finished training in Sexual Trauma, Grief and Interventions (May 2024) and is a lifelong learner in the field of psychotherapy.
Lisa has a psychotherapy style that is compassionate, empathetic, empowering, non-judgemental and authentic. Lisa uses evidence-based practices in her counselling sessions such as mindfulness-based techniques, identifying and reframing negative thought patterns, and helping individuals reach their potential. She has worked with various mental health issues and life transitions, such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting, grief, divorce, and loneliness.
Lisa also has experience working with individuals who have been sexually abused and experienced other forms of trauma in their lives. Together, you will both create a safe and confidential space for you to share what is on your mind with Lisa.
