My Background
From a young age, I’ve been curious about everything different and unknown, and about how our society shapes us. As a psychologist, I’m fascinated by other cultures and gained experience as a street worker in Bolivia and by supporting refugees in Belgium.
I graduated as a Clinical Psychologist from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and have continued to train over the years in creative therapeutic methods, trauma care for adolescents, intercultural work, and EMDR.
Next to psychology and art, I have a passion for nature and the outdoors. Partially based in the Granada region in Southern Spain and shaped by my training as a wilderness guide, I often accompany groups in the outdoors.
As a psychologist, I prefer not to hold on too tightly to one specific perspective. Every person and every situation is different. That’s why I start first and foremost from a place of curiosity, a mindset of ‘not-knowing’. Together, we can explore what has caused you to feel stuck and find clarity. We’ll try to zoom out and look at the bigger picture. In other words, a holistic approach that considers body, mind, and context.
I also value non-verbal methods in therapy. Talking doesn’t work for everyone, and it can feel intimidating to express your story in words, especially when you haven’t (yet) found the language to talk about your difficulties. From personal experience, I’ve seen how movement, play, and creativity can help lower the threshold and also deepen and clarify the therapeutic process.
You are warmly welcome.
