I trained as a Counselling Psychologist in Australia, specializing in a form of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy known as Rational Emotive Therapy. I moved to London and worked as a Counselling Psychologist, offering short-term crisis intervention, helping actively suicidal clients. The Crisis Team was multi-disciplinary and it was there I began to broaden my therapeutic expertise, building a toolbox aimed at providing support in a crisis. I then obtained a Master's in Forensic Psychology and later worked as a Forensic Mental Health Practitioner with young people (16+) with mental health and offending issues. In that job, I again gathered multidisciplinary expertise from drug, alcohol, vocational and dyslexia specialists.
I moved to Hamburg Germany and continued to develop expertise in mindfulness, which I use myself. I have further trained in safeguarding. I have also established an Autism Therapy centre, and whilst I don't have any professional expertise in autism, I have considerable lived experience of autism and its ramifications in a family context.
I have been a member of the Australian Psychological Society, and have been a member of the British Psychological Society since 2018.
I am currently upgrading my skills, and have completed a course in Compassion Focussed Therapy.
I see myself as being able to offer support, understanding and hope in difficult situations, helping to build robust strategies for the future.
I am willing to offer an initial consultation for free.
