About me

Greetings!

I'm Allan, a Registered EuroPsy Psychologist with over 15 years of experience. I hold a degree in Clinical Psychology from the State University of Rio de Janeiro and an Integrated Master's Degree recognition from Minho University in Portugal. My career has taken me across the globe, from Mental Health Centers in Rio de Janeiro to roles in England, Ireland, New Zealand, the United States, and now Germany.

These diverse cultural experiences have deepened my understanding of human behavior and enriched my therapeutic skills through extensive training in Meditation/Mindfulness, Anthroposophy, Holistic Therapies, and Buddhist Psychology. I've further specialized in Couple's Therapy, Conflict Mediation, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Non-Violent Communication, equipping me to effectively guide both individuals and teams through interpersonal challenges.

At the heart of my practice is a passion for building authentic connections and honoring each person's unique story without judgment. Whether working with individuals or couples, I prioritize helping my clients confront life's challenges with confidence and resilience, guiding them toward greater autonomy. After all, my goal is to empower you with the tools you need for lasting change – because therapy isn't meant to last forever!

Approach

Treatment Approaches
Clinical psychologyRecommended for those who need help with diagnosing and treating more complex mental health issues, often involving assessments and evidence-based treatments.
Couples therapySupport for couples working through problems and who want to gain insight into the relational dynamics that contribute to the problem.
IFS: Internal family systemsRecommended for those who want to explore and heal the different parts of themselves that might feel conflicted or overwhelmed.
MindfulnessMindfulness is the process of maintaining a purposeful moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, and surrounding environment.
Nonviolent communicationRecommended for those who want to improve communication and to regulate conflicts by learning how to express their feelings and needs and listening to other’s.

★ My therapeutic approach is comprehensive and tailored to your unique needs. During our work together, we'll explore several key areas:

  1. Emotional Awareness: Developing a deeper understanding of your feelings and their impact
  2. Thought Patterns: Identifying and transforming behavioral and thinking patterns that may be holding you back
  3. Core Values: Examining whether your current life aligns with your fundamental values and needs
  4. Past Experiences: Addressing unresolved conflicts, traumas, and their triggers in your present life
  5. Holistic Well-being: Considering how physical health influences your mental well-being
  6. Relationship Dynamics: Enhancing your connection with yourself and others
  7. Daily Living: Evaluating and optimizing your routines for better life satisfaction

★ In my role as a couple's therapist, I have successfully worked with multicultural couples, particularly those who communicate primarily in English. My own experience in a cross-cultural marriage enriches my practice, allowing me to connect deeply with the unique dynamics my clients face. Proven techniques such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Attachment-Based Therapy are employed to guide couples through their challenges and help them build stronger, more loving bonds. Nonviolent Communication (NVC) techniques are also used to improve understanding and empathy. The aim is to create relationships that not only survive but thrive in the face of adversity.

★ For group work, our sessions emphasize authentic communication and personal growth through NVC and IFS, offering a rich platform for practice and interaction within a culturally diverse community. To learn more and join our waitlist, please send me a message.

★ Ready to begin? I offer a complimentary 15-minute call to discuss your concerns and explore how we might work together.
