Heidi has a BA in Fine Arts, an MA in Counselling, from Vermont College of Norwich University, a Post Graduate Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders from Hamline University, and is a Certified Mindfulness Trainer. She recently completed credentialing as an Anti-Boring Approach Coach, honing her expertise into strategies that help clients with all types of brains become engaged, independent learners using research-backed study skills & executive function strategies.
During her time in her masters program, she researched the integration of counseling and experiential therapies; such as art, pet, mindfulness, play, and journaling therapies. Clinically, she has worked in youth serving organizations, private practice, public/private schools, and EAP’s for over 25 years, serving children, young adults, families, and adults of all ages. She has created and delivered training on self-care, child protection, learning differences, self-harm, autism spectrum disorders, and mindfulness.
Heidi works part-time as a private school counselor, in private Counseling Practice, Cedarberry Consulting, and a Facilitator for SCARS (Saving Children and Revealing Secrets).
She practices mindfulness, art, laughter, pet therapy, and dog walking often. Her own mental health journey adds a depth of knowledge that isn't learned in a school or a book but through the heart, mind, and soul.
