About me

I work with international individuals across Finland and Europe, offering therapy in both English and Swedish. I have completed advanced training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), personality disorders, trauma, and the treatment of children and adolescents.

Originally from Canada, with roots in Portugal, I now call Finland home. On a personal level, I deeply relate to the experiences of international people. I understand both the opportunities and challenges that come with building a life in a new country—navigating cultural differences, adjusting to new environments, managing uncertainty, and finding a sense of identity and belonging. These experiences have shaped my deep empathy and insight into the struggles that many internationals face.

My passion is helping internationals improve their mental well-being and build fulfilling lives, no matter where they are on their journey. I know firsthand how stressful and isolating it can feel to adapt to a new culture, and I believe no one should have to go through it alone. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore your emotions, develop coping strategies, and create meaningful change in your life.

Much of my early training and experience focused on child and adolescent psychology. I have worked as a school psychologist, an occupational health psychologist, a psychologist in a hospital psychiatric unit, and in private practice.

If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply need guidance in navigating life’s challenges, I’m here to help. You deserve support, and you don’t have to go through it alone. 💙

Feel free to reach out with any questions or to book a free 15-minute consultation—I’d love to connect and answer anything on your mind.

CBT: Cognitive behavioural therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
Couples therapySupport for couples working through problems and who want to gain insight into the relational dynamics that contribute to the problem.

I am a psychologist specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with additional training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and self-compassion. My approach is structured and goal-oriented, helping clients develop practical tools for lasting change. I work with adults, teens, and couples online, offering personalized strategies for a wide range of mental health concerns. As an active participant in therapy, I provide feedback and structured exercises to reinforce learning between sessions. My goal is to equip clients with the skills and confidence to manage their mental health effectively. Compassionate and organized, I regularly assess progress and adjust treatment to keep clients on track. Ultimately, I strive to help clients build lasting emotional resilience and well-being.

Before starting therapy, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to understand your concerns and begin setting goals. Early sessions focus on exploring the presenting issues, defining clear treatment objectives, and developing a personalized therapy plan with a realistic timeframe. In each session, we check in on symptoms, review progress, and adjust the approach as needed. We also collaborate on between-session activities to reinforce learning. Drawing from CBT and related approaches, we work on challenging unhelpful thoughts, practicing acceptance when change isn’t possible, and problem-solving practical issues together. My aim is to create a supportive, structured space where you can develop effective coping strategies and meaningful change.
